For the JapanoDict Android app

The short version: JapanoDict doesn't collect anything. There's no account, no analytics, and no server it talks to for normal use. Here's the detail behind that.
Nothing. We don't operate any server that JapanoDict sends data to, we don't have analytics or crash-reporting embedded in the app, and there is no account or sign-in of any kind.
The dictionary is a database bundled with the app. Every search, every word you look up, and every kanji you view is looked up entirely on your device. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Drawing a kanji and scanning a photo both use Google's on-device ML Kit to recognise text and handwriting directly on your phone. Strokes and images are processed locally and are never uploaded. The one exception: the first time you use handwriting recognition, Android downloads a small recognition model (about 20MB) through Google Play services; this is a one-time model download, not a place your drawings or searches are sent.
Your search history, starred (favourite) words, and any Anki deck you choose to import are stored locally in the app's own storage on your phone. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and uninstalling the app removes it.
JapanoDict uses Google ML Kit for on-device handwriting and text recognition, and is distributed through Google Play. Google's own privacy policy covers how Play services and ML Kit's model delivery operate at the OS level; we don't receive or see any data from either.
JapanoDict doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Since the app doesn't collect data today, any future change that would start collecting data would be reflected here first.
